Schumacher PSJ-2212 DSR ProSeries Review — One of the best jump starters you can get
No time to play games
I’ve worked for a towing company for years. Not that kind, so don’t worry… won’t come hunting for you. I’m actually part of an automotive industry that provides simple services, like unlocking a locked door for our clients/customers, providing a jump, or towing a car if need be, all free of charge for members.
So in a way we’re a little like Triple A, only this is a small community, so we just do it for an equally small fee, nothing pricy but we do have our fair share of regular customers that makes the job worth having even in a small community of less than ten thousand people—sounds like a lot, but stretch that out over the course of a few acres and the size rapidly diminishes over time.
Well one problem we face is mainly during the winter season, we have two main issues—well, three but the third is easy. We suffer from people locking themselves out of their car (that’s actually the third one I spoke of), we pull them out of a ditch when the snow comes on thick, and we provide jump starts for their cars.
Now like I said, we’re just a small town operation so most of the time we don’t handle the complicated stuff, but the Schumacher ProSeries Car Battery Booster was one accessory I even paid for out of my own pocket because it was just so damn useful. First off it helped me to do my job; in the first two weeks alone of having this product—I bought it during a very long lasting winter—I had to jump more than seven cars, all because of the extreme cold, plus the folks around these parts don’t really have fancy cars.
That was just one avenue though. Sometimes we also suffer little problems like the power going out, and while I do have a backup generator rigged in my basement, I also have this for my tool room. I do a lot of tinkering around the house, small jobs like building a bird house for my kids, or fixing up the roof, anything really to keep me busy, and with an old house I got plenty work ahead of me. But when the lights go out, or even if I just need a reliable, portable source of energy, all I gotta do is take this thing with me for tools I need to plug in, or use this to charge my tools while using the battery pack and things are right as rain.
I’d suggest this product even if you aren’t a small-time mechanic like me. Two hundred dollars is nothing when you think about the peace of mind it provides, knowing that it’s in the trunk of your car, and I always carry it with me. Just remember to charge this thing before you pack it up and take it with you.
